Mission
- The Governance Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust governance frameworks for Corporate Governance, Business Support functions Governance, and IT and Networks / Information Security Governance.
- This role ensures that the organization adheres to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies while aligning governance practices with strategic business objectives
- The Governance Manager will drive the effective management of related risks and controls, facilitate cross-functional collaboration to achieve governance excellence.
Key Accountabilities:
Corporate Governance:
- Develop and implement governance frameworks, policies, and procedures for business units.
- Ensure alignment between business operations and the organization’s strategic goals.
- Conduct periodic reviews of governance practices and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Guide business units in compliance with governance standards and internal controls.
- Monitor and report on key governance metrics and provide insights to leadership.
Business Support Functions Governance:
- Oversee the governance framework for support functions, including Finance, HR, and Legal.
- Establish and monitor effective governance practices within support departments.
- Facilitate collaboration between support functions to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Lead audits and assessments of governance practices within support functions.
IT and Networks / Information Security Governance:
- Develop and maintain an information security governance framework, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with IT and Network (ITN) teams to identify, assess, and manage information security risks.
- Establish policies and procedures for data protection and cybersecurity.
- Monitor compliance with information security standards and report on risks and vulnerabilities.
- Support the implementation of ISO 27001 and other relevant information security certifications.
Competencies:
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks such as ISO, COBIT, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in information security governance, with familiarity with ISO 27001 standards.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the telecom industry.

- Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex information clearly.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in governance, risk management, compliance, or a related field, preferably within the telecom industry
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, CGEIT, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer) are a plus.
- Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills;
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Cybersecurity
- 7 years' experience in Security Governance, with a proven track record in developing and implementing security strategies, policies, and frameworks within organizations
- At least 3 years' experience in leading and managing technical or security teams, with the ability to mentor, guide, and develop team members
