Key Accountabilities:
- Planning and design of national transport network infrastructure, including optical (DWDM), Microwave that connected RAN, Access Routers, Core, and Datacenters.
- Analyze transmission network to identify optimization opportunities and ensure network resilience, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with the vendor & the Orange group to evaluate and select appropriate Transmission and DWDM solutions.
- Ensure alignment with service demand and future capacity requirements.
- Familiar with Huawei & Nokia DWDM equipment.
- Manage, follow up, and coordinate all transmission and legacy technology migration and dismantling activity (MW, DWDM, SDH, PDH)
- Coordinate for new DWDM projects implementation, secure the needs with internal OJO stakeholders (for space, DC power, & Fiber readiness) to seamlessly deliver the project.
- Keep the network database updated with LLD & HLD
- Design new MW Links based on the LOS to optimize the connectivity and avoid Congestion.
- Manage the new frequency bands & Band Width requested by the design to meet the new link capacities needed.
- Manage the TRC application for the MW Links based on the design.
- Manage transmission material inventory (stocked, installed, dismantled, new purchased, etc..
- )
- Follow up the new transmission projects: Design, offers, evaluation, implementation,and acceptance.
- Prepare the proper needed transmission media for the data access network and ensure its connectivity to the core network, for the new Network Elements or for the existing ones, based on the expansion requirements
- Prepare technical solution, design documentation, and drawings for the transmission network to present clearly all the modifications done
- Manage the fiber Network expansion and optimization to achieve the needed capacity or redundancy.
- Follow up on Enterprise Transmission requirements, Bid Process, and other Proposition activities.
- Support Budget preparation based on the traffic growth forecast and the new enterprise or wholesale business needs.
- Create the new NNI links with the neighboring countries' networks.
- Expand the Domestic network capacities to cope with the international IP traffic growth.
- Problem Solving, Communication Skills;
- BSC degree in Telecommunication, Electronics & Computer Engineering with 5 to 7 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microwave Planning principles.
- Strong experience with Microwave Planning tools such as Pathloss, Asset.
- Good knowledge of Telecom regulations and requirements.
- Strong knowledge of different Transmission technologies: MW, DWDM, SDH … etc
- Hands-on Experience on with optical transport equipment (e.g, Huawei & Nokia).
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work ina dynamic environment.
- Familiar with IP/MPLS technologies and their integration with optical networks
- Well organized with strong documentation and archiving skills.
- Problem diagnosis and resolution skills.
- Ability to train less experienced engineers.
